Although not a core developer, I find it useful to respond to this thread. Routine activity includes following all of the lists and providing assistance. I track all of the bugzilla issues and provide assistance in isolating and confirming issues. I also watch lists other than the Apache OpenOffice ones to see if there are discussions that are pertinent to AOO.
I am also past the half-way point in my term as Chair of the Project Management Committee. The reports for October-December 2015 and January-March 2016 have been submitted. For the remaining two quarters I am looking at a theme for each: * April-June 2016: Clarity Finding a way to connect the dots so that the moving parts of the Apache OpenOffice project can be viewed as a whole. I have done some of that but there is more needed and I have some idea where to start. This will continue into the next quarter. * July-September 2016: Governance This includes identifying my successor and also ensuring that all of the information that I rely on as Chair is made available to that person. Since the next Chair will not be ratified by the Board until the October board meeting, I will prepare that Board report. That will give the new Chair a start-up breather going into the October-December quarter. - Dennis > -----Original Message----- > From: Damjan Jovanovic [mailto:dam...@apache.org] > Sent: Tuesday, May 17, 2016 11:34 > To: Apache OO <dev@openoffice.apache.org> > Subject: Re: Development updates > > On Sun, May 15, 2016 at 6:06 PM, Kay Schenk <kay.sch...@gmail.com> > wrote: > > > > > > > On 05/13/2016 11:03 AM, Damjan Jovanovic wrote: > > > >> Hi > >> > >> I've been working with Fred Toussi, a very helpful hsqldb developer, > on > >> many CSV handling improvements to hsqldb, in hopes of eventually > using > >> hsqldb in place of our dodgy CSV driver in Base (it has far better > SQL > >> support, joins, subqueries, many scalar functions, etc.).
