Are you already using IBM Lotus Notes? AIX is kin to Unix System 5 and BSD Unix. It runs on various proprietary IBM platforms. It will matter if you are working with a personal AIX system or a shared multi-user AIX system. I think the best thing to do is find an AIX or CDE user group or mailing-list and ask there. Your particular hardware will also matter, since desktop software will be compiled for the particular platform and the processor it uses (e.g., x86, PowerPC, or POWER). IBM might have information also. - Dennis PS: I have exhausted my knowledge on this topic in this note.
