Was using OpenOffice Writer and pasted a name from a web page. Then it
started putting an underline line between paragraphs like the auto-format
when I separate ideas with -------- it tries to change it to a line that
looks like a page break so I undo auto-format. So it keeps putting these
damn underline in on blank lines and text formatting and paragraph
formatting can't get rid of it so I close my document.


When I reopen it I have NOTHING! Then after a few tries I get five lines
out of Thirty Five pages. I don't back it up to the cloud as it is private
information. I have now lost three months of notes since my last local
backup.


Under Options it shows C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\Backup
as the backup file location. It is empty. The only change I made was to
turn off the question about save in ODF format as I send it to other people
in RTF or Microsoft DOC format.


I did find in options that in Options\Load Save\General “Always create a
backup copy” was not checked. This should be checked by default. :(


This is sad I guess I must buy MS Office since this thing is crap.
