Dear Damjan, I just finished compiling OpenOffice on Ububtu 14.04. After a few failed attempts i finally did it :).
Although i got an error message on the last installation command the program works just fine. the error was:( Processing triggers for shared-mime-info (1.2-0ubuntu3) ... Errors were encountered while processing: unxlngx6.pro/Apache_OpenOffice/deb/install/en-US/DEBS/desktop-integration/openoffice4.2-debian-menus_4.2-9800_all.deb ) I will continue reading the links you provided.
