Thank you Marcus! I've set the "Release Blocker" flag for our first three bugs already fixed for 4.1.2 and everything worked as expected, including mailing list notifications.
We are back to the standard workflow of handling release blockers, so anyone can now request an issue to be a release blocker, this list will automatically get notification and the flag will be granted upon discussion/review/lazy consensus.
Of course, before asking for a bugfix to be included in 4.1.2 the relevant bug should be fixed on trunk.
