Hello Krista, Yes, welcome and thank you for introducing yourself.
The combination of C++, Java, and SQL can come in handy as you get deeper into Apache OpenOffice. We do have some Java dependencies and the OpenOffice Base application uses JDBC and Java-based database services. There are some other features that bridge to Java implementations, and folks can develop extensions using Java. A lot of this is tied into the UNO model for objects (in C++) that you will encounter. That's nothing to pay attention to now. It is something may catch your eye as you dig deeper into Apache OpenOffice. Enjoy your studies and the familiarization exercises here. - Dennis -----Original Message----- From: Kay Schenk [mailto:kay.sch...@gmail.com] Sent: Saturday, January 31, 2015 15:16 To: dev@openoffice.apache.org; kwatkin...@gmail.com Subject: Re: Krista Watkins - Introduction On 01/31/2015 08:27 AM, Krista Watkins wrote: > Hello Everyone, > > My name is Krista Watkins and I am looking forward to beginning my > volunteer work here with OpenOffice. > > Now, for a little background on myself. > > I am a second year student at Regis University working on a bachelors > degree in Computer Science.
