I know, but a conference that have many talks, paid expensively, by companies, cannot be taken serious when the see volunteers at the same level. I was actually asked if ASF could not pay. The conference organizers earn money on the event and that does not seem really compatible with volunteer work. I would not like to use our budget for that type of event. Likewise I have been out speaking at a local university (and go to a highschool in september), where I paid my own way and they gave lunch. > > > I suggested that they next year, ask the companies to pay a little more, >> and use that on volunteers, just e.g. a lunch to signal respect of the >> volunteers. Actually not my idea, but something a company I worked did regulary, and it worked very well. rgds jan I. > > > Regards, > Andrea. > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org > For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org > >
