IMHO it would be best if, in such cases, the Release Manager formally propose to end the previous vote. This reinforces the fact that the PMC decides when a vote fails or not. An easy way to do this is to send a note like, "I propose to cancel the current vote because <insert reasons>. If there are no objections the vote is canceled" That gives the opportunity for someone to object. In that case the vote would continue. -Rob > But nevertheless we found several showstopper issues late in RC builds. > Even in code that is in the product since December last year. > > I would like to invite all volunteers to test the current available RC2 > more intensive and report potential problems. > > A new RC 3 build will be prepared later this week. > > Juergen > > >> On 4/8/14 11:00 AM, Jürgen Schmidt wrote: >> Hi all, >> >> this is a call for vote on releasing the available release candidate >> (RC2) as Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0. >> >> Apache OpenOffice 4.1 is a minor update with many bugfixes and at least >> 2 major improvements.
