They need to use freedesktop integration, which was included, and is described in the Installation Instructions. I'm not sure what else we can do about this, except exclude all the desktop integration stuff in the separate directory (most of which no longer applies) as we do now, and put just the freedesktop stuff in the main rpms for installation. I'm 90% certain this would work for most Linux distros.
