Hello OpenOffice developers, My name is Tenzin Chhosphel. I am based in New York City. I am a rising senior at City College - CUNY majoring in Computer Science. As I was browsing through the never ending list of programming volunteer opportunities, OpenOffice stood out. I had used OpenOffice in my linux system as well as in school's linux lab. I think providing such a great productivity suite for free is a kind and wonderful thing. This makes me wonder how can Microsoft and Apple charge over hundred dollars for a similar productivity suite ! Some of the most relevant CS courses I took in school include data structures, algorithms, and OOP programming. I did well in those courses as well as throughout my college career. I have over 3.6 GPA. Although I have experience in several programming languages such as C, Java, Objective-C, and so forth, I primary code in C++. So, as OpenOffice is coded in C++, I think I can contribute to the project. I want to leave with few questions. I like to get to know more specifics about current happenings, who is working on what, that sort of thing. I also like to know which specific part of the project can I contribute should I be a volunteer at OpenOffice. Thank you.
Sincerely, Tenzin Chhosphel --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org
