The English (en-US) version has support for several variants of English, including British English. Select your text, then set the language to "English (UK)" from Format - Character and you will see "traveller" accepted and "traveler" rejected.
There is also an en-GB version of OpenOffice that adopts British spelling rules for the user interface (menus, help). I haven't checked what dictionaries it includes by default. You can find it at
