Hello Development team,
I had OpenOffice 3. something and I just downloaded the 4.0.0. Whenever I
would open documents it would still open the 3 one. I got rid of the 3
thinking this would help but now my documents open in the Mac program Pages
which I don't want it to. Can you help me with having the newly downloaded
OpenOffice to be the main one?
Thank you,
Brianna
You need to reset the file associations.
Right click (ctrl/click) on the document you wish to open.
Click on "Get Info"
In the dialogue window that opens, under "Open with:" select from the drop down menu
"OpenOffice.app".
Then click on the button "Change All..."
You will need to do this for all file types you wish to open with Apache
OpenOffice.
I assume you are trying to open .doc files since you can open them with Pages. If they are
files you created with OpenOffice, you should safe in the native .odt format.
