FWIW, we are using jdk 6 by default. In order to build with jdk 7 we still have 
to
bring some other fixes but that may be ready for 4.0. As fopr the accessibility
stuff from IBM, there are people working on it and there have been advances but
the code is not trivial. Also I don't think it will be backported to 3.4.x.

As in any volunteer project, no promises or ETA.
