Requesting Assign permission on NIFI Jira

Hi,
I am writing this mail to address an issue about assigning Issues to myself
on JIRA.
I created the Jira ASF account for Apache NiFi, but when I am looking
through the issues there, I am not able to find any option to assign myself
a particular issue.
Kindly provide me a solution for this problem or guide me if I am
doing something wrong as I am a beginner in Open Source Contribution.
