Team, The NiFi 2.2.0 version [1] has close to 50 Jira issues resolved, including some important bug fixes and the introduction of new features such as the Database Dialect Service interface [2] among others.
Although not a requirement, having more frequent releases provides a number of benefits, including a reduced scope of changes to verify and a more rapid feedback cycle on changes. With that background, I would like to consider starting a NiFi 2.2.0 release candidate build before the end of this week. In an offline conversation with Pierre Villard, he expressed willingness to handle Release Manager responsibilities for this version. After evaluating currently available dependency updates and going through currently open pull requests, we should be in a good position to move forward.
