Many CI builds are still running under Java6 for various reasons. Unfortunately, there is no way to specify Java7 as a build pre-requisite in the plugin POM. I think the best effort would be to make it clearer in the documentation. I suggest the following: Can you please attach this issue to release 3.12, so that the change is obvious from the release notes. Can you please update the plugin site with a prominent warning that Java7 is required to run the plugin. Thanks.
