+1 on moving to git (and github).
We 've just moved drools/jbpm from svn to git and looking backwards I
feel like svn didn't understand open source development and git does.
As a contributor (not committer) it would be much more interesting to
contribute (because we can merge our unaccepted changes with your new
commits easiliy)
and as your committer you'll have it much much easier to apply our "pull
requests" instead of those clunky patches we supply now.
Basically, it lowers the barrier for open source contributions.
I wouldn't suggest mirroring though, just migrate each plugin into a git
repository (history is migrated too) with git-svn.

One of the big benefits is easy forking/patching and/with github.
I'm dead keen to at least get a git mirror.

I'm a big Git fan and GitHub as well. Though SVN is fine for me.

given my understanding of how GIT works, I think for the large number
of small projects at mojo, it might not be a good fit (since afaik GIT
works best when each repo is limited to a single project)
Why not put every mojo project in a single repository and use submodules
to bundle them all?
Although SVN is fine as a contributor I would prefer GIT.
