@Robert: I see no particular benefit to using maven-jarsigner-plugin here. It 
would just be called as a library and do essentially the same thing as the Ant 
task. (If the keypass and/or storepass could be protected using Maven password 
encryption, that would be useful, but it looks like this is not supported.) 
Anyway this is off topic for this issue.
