Shashi Velur commented on MRPM-51:
----------------------------------
We used 2.0-beta-4 version of the source and modified it to add a boolean flag
(and a few other source changes) in AbstractRPMMojo.java to ensure that the
file list is generated in a separate file rather than directly in the
specification.
That did the trick.
We seem to have run in to this permissions problem a couple of projects in our
deployment env. I am afraid the permissions might be hard to change due to so
many other reasons.
Are there any other possible workarounds for this?
Your advice and help is much appreciated..

> We have a.rpm and b.rpm. And we have user_a and user_b.
> We install a.rpm as user_a, and then b.rpm as user_b. The installation
> of b.rpm fails, because it does not have permission to overwrite the
> file Sha1header (part of the rpm database), which is created when you
> have files under your %files section.
>
> We know we can fix this if we use something like: %files -f $PWD/$Name.list
> At this point, it looks as if we will need to add this functionality
> ourselves, as soon
> as we have the patch (or more details) I will add them to this issue.
