Jochen Wiedmann commented on MUNIX-22:

I disagree with that suggestion. The new behaviour of rpmbuild makes perfect
sense to me. I'd suggest to investigate, whether and how it's possible to
install an i386 rpm on x64 instead. Should solve your desire (one package for
all) and avoid the necessity to violate vendor conventions.

> After upgrading to the FC11 preview, my existing rpm projects don't build
> anymore. This is due to a change in the spec that rpmbuilds now follows that
> doesn't allow any arch dependent binaries in a noarch package. This affects
> the projects that bundles the wrapper library.
> The solution is to either add an arch to the package, which I don't really
> want since I want the same package to run on both x64 and i386. Or to add the
> following to the specfile:
> %global _binaries_in_noarch_packages_terminate_build 0
