Here's a patch that will upgrade the 1.0-alpha-1 version of tomcat-maven-plugin
to support tomcat6.
I have confirmed that this patch works for the tomcat:run scenario, but don't
know if further changes are required for managing a running tomcat instance
using the TomcatManager for Tomcat6.
Change description:
- Upgrade dependencies to rely on org.apache.tomcat group artifacts
- Exclude the servlet-api 2.3 dependency from commons-logging artifact
(tomcat6 provides an updated servlet API)
- Synchronize the default web.xml with the Tomcat 6 version
- Explicitly set the plugin classloader as the parent of the WebappLoader
created by RunMojo so that servlet classes from web projects can access the
classes provided by the container.
