The hibernate-maven-plugin, xmlbeans-maven-plugin, etc always update their
hibernate, xmlbeans, ... version when they release a new version of the plugin.
It is handy if it comes with the a non-archaic version out of the box, for
proof of concepts and small applications.
Of course for very serious applications, I'd also recommend configuring the
jasperreports version in the plugin dependencies.
I do agree that the priority of this issue can be changed to trivial or minor.
