I'd like to get some discussion going around a possible data-loading
plugin. The idea would be to provide a goal that can programmatically
load data into a database, mainly for initialisation purposes.
I've been using the hibernate3:init goal from MHIBERNATE-41 as a
stop-gap solution, but Tim O'Brien and myself have agreed that a
standalone plugin would be useful. Has anyone got any knowledge of
existing tools that could be used for this? I'm aware that DbUnit
provides various methods of loading datasets, but I'd like to see this
plugin compatible with direct usage of ORM libraries such as
Hibernate, etc.
Any thoughts?
