Ok, well there was no mention of this in the announcement. The email says "Plugin is Java7 level and compatible with Maven 3.2.5+"
I don't think the announcement list should be the only source for this information. For one thing, its easy to forget to send an email. There was no announcement about the m-install-p v3.0.1 release.
