Sounds OK, and not only to me ;-)
Forgive me my ignorance, but can someone give some short description
about the OpenOffice.org / open source groups in Nicaragua, Colombia,
..., what activities they have, the role of Luis E. Vasquez and so on.
This helps me to place the activity better in perspective.
Thanks a lot,
Cor

Hi I want to reuqest a $300 dls fund for Luis E Vasquez on his trip to
Nicaragua to attend the ECSL (Encuentro Centroamericano de Software
Libre). The event would take place in June and would be a week long
however he will just be able to attend 2 days. He will be taking off
from Medellin Colombia and would be giving a talk on Migrations to
OpenOffice.org. The event is the first in central america and has the
participation of crew from Guatemala, Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama and
Costa Rica (not sure if Honduras and Belize as well).
The event seems to have no presence from OpenOffice.org, having Luis
will bring more visibility to the project and also participation from
a "Gray Area (no volunteers)" in the collaboration within LatinAmerica.
The event site is: http://encuentro.sl-centroamerica.org/
They have a wiki, identi.ca group and blog about the event and seems
the organization and attendance expectation is worthwile of our
presence.
Regards.
