Oh, now I suddenly found it - "OOo Major deployments", in the lower- right corner of the front page.

It should be linked in a more visible way!

I used to maintain an archive of news events but don't have the time any longer and so the archive is, as they say, history :-). Still, it was useful, and we can now use the wikis, which makes maintenance easier. Why don't you and I (and anyone else who wants to help) start it again? That way you can keep it as you like, too :-)

It could include links to important data, like the deployments, market share analysis, etc.: things people want to know. Naturally, it would duplicate some of the function of existing pages, but in this case overdetermination is not necessarily bad.

URL would be.../News_Archives

And it would include deep links to articles of interest. Some of these are on the newsletter blog, some in the published newsletter, but we could thus keep this up to date and send people there directly from the homepage.

Could also include *all* languages.

Yes? If so, let's start now. We can change layout as we go along. Simple tables work. If unsure about using wiki syntax, do a simple table layout in HTML then cut and paste. That should work fine.

(I even think John would approve :-))
