I wanted to participate in the Marketing Project a year ago but the general
attitude toward those who were volunteers - not employees and the politics
just turned me off to it. I still subscribe to this list just to keep an eye
on what's going on because I am still a Community Distributor and I still
support OpenOffice.org. Unfortunately, I find this Marketing Project
somewhat disorganized and this is one example that proves my point.

I'm volunteer as well. Never have had any problems with initiatives and
communication. But that might be by incident ;-)
Nevertheless I can understand some of your feelings.
The best thing I try to do, is just contribute where I can. And
sometimes I raise my voice on this list, if IMO, people focus to much on
would be/past/not existing problems. Just repeating because there are
bad feelings about things that have happened in the past, doesn't get
the project nor yourself any further. And it spreads the smell of
problems that are rather minor or even non-existing.
Another problem, and I stumbled over it few times, is that it's easy to
get lost or not to know the way exactly, with the risk of causing
confusion to others. But this is a more general problem in such large
projects.
Well, sory for my little preach ;-) Hope you like to stay lurking and
maybe find you some nice things to do.
Kindest regards,
Cor
