Hi all,

I know, that some of you have interest in the marketing activities from the germanophone project, so I would like to give you a short summary of CeBIT 2006 in Hannover (9.03.-15.03.06), where we presented OpenOffice.org.

This year CeBIT celebrated its 20th anniversary and had 6,262 exhibitors, including over 3,300 from abroad.

The germanophone project had a nice booth in hall 4, where also Microsoft, SAP and other small companies exhibited their goods :-) We presented the project together with some companies, which offer services around OOo and which made our booth possible. Additionally we had two lectures in the "LinuxPark".

Please have a look at our summary (german):

(thanks to Volker Merschmann and Sigrid Kronenberger for this!)

##And now my question:##

As CeBIT is very popular and of international interest, we had the idea for an "experiment" on CeBIT 2007. What do you think about representing the international project OpenOffice.org next year? I already had a talk with the organizer of the "LinuxPark"/"BusinessPark" to get a cheap booth for next year. Certainly we must think about financing it, but I think we can manage it similar to this year, with sponsoring and partner companies, which can share the booth with us.

I hope to see some of you next year in Hannover!

Regards,

Jacqueline Rahemipour
