There is now a plugin for Windows users to extend OOo functionality into Google's Desktop Search software.
When OOo 2.0 is out and OpenDocument is the working open standard for office documents we should really help/put pressure on Google to make them support OpenDocument in both the desktop search (out-of-the-box) and the search engine.
Let's not be satisfied with the plugin-status.
