Here it is!
Attached is a (compressed) svg file of the wire gulls (10kb). The plain one is only 40kb. It has been created with Inkscape 0.41. It could still be improved because the upper border is cut (it is based on the hi-res image).
I hope this will help people wanting to created graphics for 2.0.

I also have created an attachment with the file on issue 43777

Thanks, I have watched both issues, and having hi-res gulls is already a
good thing. But the file is heavy and not easily customizable.
So I'm currently Inkscaping a lot, and I will be able to provide a
vector file (below 100kb) in a few days.
I've already reproduced 75% of the wireframe, and I only need to finish,
and try to apply some progressive transparency and size reduction from
the foreground to the background.

By the way, I've also tried to vectorize the image with the tracing tool
included in inkscape and I already get a good result, but the file
remains too large (3.7Mo). So a hand-made one will be better.

Hello,

Does anybody have a vector file (SVG or EPS or other) for the
wireframe seagulls/waves found on the splashscreen of Brendan Whelan ?

It would be a nice idea to provide this component for people wanting
to design CD cases, wallpapers, etc.

Hello Christophe

Please follow up on [email protected] as I have cc'd your
enquiry there.

In the meantime, you may wish to view issue 43777
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=43777 that includes the
high res tifs of the splashscreen, and issue 43677
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=43677 where Christian
has created some CD covers and labels using the splashscreen and
wireframe mofifs.

And yes we would welcome your contributions to the artwork for the
marketing materials.

Regards
Jacqueline
