ROFLMAO Oh well I didn't say it wasn't irreverent. However what you will find in there is the most highpowered collection of IT minds this side of the black stump, and this is the place they come to let off steam.
But the mind boggles at trying to imagine getting that sort of change through the system here! :-/
Doing it wholesale is really unlikely, because it's not been proven to be better and more acceptable.
To reach that stage, we'd need to try it out in some way, and it'd need to be "acceptable" to run on the OOo (Collabnet) servers (in the same way the mailing list software does).
Simplest method I think would be to ask the people who wrote it as I listed above. Tell 'em what the restrictions are and Koenig will probably say something like. "P*ss Off , we created this just so we could rabbit amongst ourselves." Then he'll go back to his hottub (Most developer conferences happen in his hot tub). However his secret ambition is for the NEXUS software to be spread across the globe so he can take over the world. The residents are all as mad as meataxes, but you know what they say about genius and finelines. If there is anyone about who can make the NEXUS Forums work anywhere He and Valks are the ones.
None of which is impossible, it should just be trialled somewhere first, seen if it works well (several aspects of that need to be considered) then if so we create the needed case for it and present it to the Sun/Collab people responsible. Then pray to [chosen deity]. ;)
Heh. None of them will talk to me... probably had something to do with me entering "Jedi Knight" under religion at the last census.....
But even so it would be worth a shot.
