No, I don't think so, since as [~ab] wrote above:
bq. This has been fixed on master as a part of SOLR-9959. We could back-port
relevant changes to 6x.
So since SOLR-9959 is a superset of the changes on this issue, there is no need
to commit this issue's changes to master.
