The following appears to be the case:
(1) All discovered edge points for the solid are within poly1.
(2) The reason poly1 is considered to overlap the solid is because of an edge
intersection with the internal edge.
(3) There is no edge intersection with the edges of the composite polygon.
So I still don't know where the problem lies: it's either a case of a missing
edge point, or an undetected edge intersection. I'll have to look at the solid
and polygon carefully to figure out which it is.
