Description:
When lucene created FieldType (not to be confused with Solr's FieldType), Solr
was ported by simply creating a new lucene.FieldType instance for every field
indexed (see solr.FieldType.createField())
To avoid creating every time, Solr's SchemaField (which is already analagous to
lucene.FieldType) can simply implement that interface.
