Yeah, looks like it is already working:
Putting this into my browser:

http://localhost:8983/solr/techproducts/stream?expr=${foo}&foo=hello

I get:

{code}
If you try it with a GET in curl, just turn off curl's globbing:
{code}
curl -g 'http://localhost:8983/solr/techproducts/stream?expr=${foo}&foo=hello'
{code}
