Improved patch:
- Add documentation and link to the POSIX mailing list
- Be still lenient in production, but when running tests we assert that at
least Linux does not throw IOException when fsyncing a directory. Maybe
somebody can test on OSX, too. Just change the assert to also check
{{Constants.MAC_OSX}}.
