Steve Rowe commented on SOLR-5819:
----------------------------------
I went and exported the ref guide space as PDF from the Confluence 5.4.3
instance at
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence2/display/solr/Apache+Solr+Reference+Guide
(notice the "2" in the "confluence2" segment of the URL) - this is the test
instance Gavin McDonald advertised in a February 24th email to
[email protected] entitled "CWIKI Upgrade available for testing. 2 days
only."
The resulting PDF's size is 5.3MB, and it contains only 308 images.
So it looks like Confluence fixed it. (I searched for a related bug in their
issue tracker but didn't find anything.)
And so maybe all we have to do is wait for Infrastructure to upgrade the
production Confluence instance?

> As noted on the solr-user mailing list in response to the ANNOUNCE about the
> 4.7 ref guide, the size of the 4.4, 4.5 & 4.6 PDF files were all under 5MB,
> but the 4.7 PDF was 30MB.
> opening this issue to track trying to reduce this
