Does anyone understand why Forrest is so picky about the JVM?  This is 
counterintuitive in the extreme.

Is it because you are using JDK 1.6 on your shiny new mac?  You have to use 1.5

FWIW, Mahout is going to a single static page plus Confluence for it's website 
(http://robinanil.com/website/), much like OFBiz.   Just saying...
