Hoss Man commented on SOLR-1602:
--------------------------------
Erik: can you elaborate on what compilation error you got? is the problem just
that we don't have a deprecated version of RequestHandlerBase in o.a.s.request?
Chris: your SOLR-1602.Mattmann.wrapup.031010.patch.txt patch has some weird
stuff in it -- in particular a whole lot of previously deprecated "*Params"
classes now log messages saying that they are deprecated and to use the version
in "org.apache.solr.response" but that's not where the valid versions of those
classes are located.
> Refactor SOLR package structure to include o.a.solr.response and move
> QueryResponseWriters in there

> Currently all o.a.solr.request.QueryResponseWriter implementations are
> curiously located in the o.a.solr.request package. Not only is this package
> getting big (30+ classes), a lot of them are misplaced. There should be a
> first-class o.a.solr.response package, and the response related classes
> should be given a home there. Patch forthcoming.
