There are no fewer than TEN different language packs for each language,
e.g.
I do not know if it is good to call those individual entities (.deb
files) "language packs." Together, these .deb files represent the
Vietnamese-specific parts of OOo 3.0.0 (and thus I would rather call the
complete set of .deb files a "language pack"), split along two
dimensions: First, thanks to the new Three Layer Office philosophy
(<http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/ODF_Toolkit/Efforts/Three-Layer_OOo>),
there are .deb files that are specific to the OpenOffice.org (compared
to other brands like BrOffice or StarOffice) brand layer
(openoffice.org3-vi_3.0.0-2_i386.deb) and .deb files that are specific
to the general OOo Basis layer shared across multiple products (all the
rest you list below). Next, the files are split up according to the
individually installable features of the OOo suite (general data in
ooobasis3.0-vi-res_3.0.0-2_i386.deb and ooobasis3.0-vi_3.0.0-2_i386.deb,
writer-specific data in ooobasis3.0-vi-writer_3.0.0-2_i386.deb, etc.).
Hope this helps a little to get a clearer picture,
