Hi Ivo,
Tested the OOo 2.0.3RC3 language pack for ta-IN in linux(FC3) and Windows XP.

In linux OS, I didnt find any problem. everything is OK.

But in windows XP, I find the Tamil unicode characters are shown not shown. instead we see only boxes in the strings. The openoffice build is not using any of the tamil unicode fonts found in the system.

Is there way to fix this problem in Windows XP ? Will this problem solve if openoffice includes a free tamil unicode font along with the tamil build and sets the tamilfont as default for User Interface. If thats the case, there are some GPLed Tamil unicode fonts available, we can include some of the free tamil fonts.

Regards,
Mugunth

Hi Mugunth,

you can find the OOo 2.0.3 rc1 + language packs in the directory:

http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/2.0.3rc1/

Set your issue to verified if the translation have been correctly merged.

Cheers,
Ivo
