Hello folks, Many of the Kafka PMC members have received emails asking about "how can I become a committer in Apache Kafka", and so we figured it is a good time to publish concrete guidelines on this regard. The PMC has discussed and voted on a short list of areas that we are looking for promoting new committers, as updated in the "BECOMING A COMMITTER" section of the "How to contribute" page:
https://kafka.apache.org/contributing A few quick notes to it: * Kafka PMC would not start using the listed criteria as a "hard threshold" on promoting committers, but would leverage it to drive for nominating and discussing on potential candidates. * One of the goals of this guideline is to be transparent about what areas Kafka PMC is looking for contributions.
