Dose kafaka change network configuration?

Hi guys,
After deploying kafka cluster on my machines, I found output from 
java.net<http://java.net>.Inetaddress getCanonicalHostName() returns IP address 
instead of hostname.
Before deploying kafka cluster, it really return hostname.
As this is system wide change, does kafka change any system configuration?

Any advice?
