I would like to initiate the voting process for KIP-71 ( https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/KAFKA/KIP-71%3A+Enable+log+compaction+and+deletion+to+co-exist ).
This change will add a new cleanup.policy, compact_and_delete, that when enabled will run both compaction and deletion. Thanks, Damian
