Ismael Juma commented on KAFKA-3446: ------------------------------------ That link was just one example. The kind of error reported typically indicates a problem in the JVM. Since no-one else reported this issue on other platforms, my guess is that it's an issue with OpenJDK on FreeBSD (for particular versions). I don't see any evidence that this is a Kafka bug, but maybe I'm missing something. > SIGSEGV (0xb) Crash - libjvm.so / JVM_FindSignal > ------------------------------------------------ > > Key: KAFKA-3446 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-3446 > Project: Kafka > Issue Type: Bug > Components: core > Affects Versions: 0.9.0.1 > Environment: FreeBSD 10.2, OpenJDK (build 1.8.0_72-b15) > Reporter: Tobias Feldhaus > Priority: Blocker > > Running Kafka 0.9.0.1 with FreeBSD 10.2 (UFS not ZFS as a filesystem) leads > to crashing brokers with coredumps.
