That link was just one example. The kind of error reported typically indicates
a problem in the JVM. Since no-one else reported this issue on other platforms,
my guess is that it's an issue with OpenJDK on FreeBSD (for particular
versions). I don't see any evidence that this is a Kafka bug, but maybe I'm
missing something.
