KAFKA-3311 changed

 which unfortunately triggers NPEs consistently at this line:

            for (Map.Entry<String, Set<TaskId>> entry : 
internalSourceTopicToTaskIds.entrySet()) {
{code}

The naive bug fix -- a simple null check -- seems to resolve the problem.  PR 
incoming.
