[~ijuma] You're right. I can start a discussion in the mailing list about when
the right time to do this and break this jira/effort into 2 phases.
My main motivator is to discourage users writing new applications from starting
with the old clients. Those deprecation warnings will surely help. Especially
because the old clients are only being maintained not enhanced and they are
already missing the security features.
