I agree that this would be a very useful enhancement. We would use it for
similar reasons as Praheep, i.e. to group topics that are related as per
application area etc. Currently trying to achieve this by a flat namespace
structure, e.g. p1.google.tracking.search.click_events.
As a caveat/disclaimer - we are only just starting to explore Kafka and like it
a lot. It just struck us as odd that there was no hierarchy for the topics,
given that we'd like to use this as the main message bus for all our stuff,
across various domains within the company.
Anyway - thanks for the great work!
