The classic protocol case of ColdStartStickinessIntegrationTest takes about
73 seconds locally, while the streams protocol case takes about 23 seconds.
After the first phase, the test closes both instances and waits for the
consumer group to become empty before the cold restart. With the classic
protocol, the stream threads do not leave the group on close, so the group
only becomes empty after both members' sessions time out (45s). The broker
logs show the members removed on heartbeat expiration about 44 seconds
after the close, and the restart begins right after that.
The streams protocol case is not affected, because dynamic members leave
the group on close by default.
We can close the first-phase instances with LEAVE_GROUP, as KAFKA-21149 did
for JoinGracePeriodDurabilityIntegrationTest. Locally, this reduces the
classic case to about 29 seconds, and the group still becomes empty before
the cold restart.
