The pre-existing instructions said that you should 1. Verify that zookeeper epoch > KRaft epoch, bumping the zookeeper epoch if this is not true. 2. Deprovision the KRaft quorum But the KRaft epoch may advance between step 1 and the completion of step 2, which could cause the KRaft epoch to exceed the zookeeper epoch and lead to the zookeeper controller failing to perform partition state change operations (https://github.com/apache/kafka-site/pull/860) It seems safer and just as easy to first deprovision the KRaft quorum and then to verify the epochs. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
